Howdy! I’m Damini, and this is my travel blog. My family and I have been on many vacations over the years, so I decided to make this blog in order to share some of our experiences of traveling.

One of my favorite parts of traveling is (obviously) visiting the famous sites of the places that we visit. Whether it is natural scenery or beautiful architecture, scenic places are always very memorable. I also enjoy having some adventures when I travel. On many trips, we have done activities such as ziplines or alpine coasters. Even when we are just doing something like climbing rocks, it’s fun to go to a new place and do something adventurous.

Traveling also presents many opportunities for new experiences! I think one of the biggest parts of trips is trying new things. For example, many places have very different food than what I usually eat. In Japan, I tried sea urchin for the first time! But I have also discovered some of my favorite foods while traveling. In Japan, I tried herring soba for the first time and ended up eating it many more times on the trip because I liked it so much. There are also times on trips when I must challenge myself. In China and some Spanish speaking countries, I have sometimes had to speak Chinese or Spanish to the locals! But while I might make some silly mistakes or have to ask the person to repeat themselves, I usually am surprised that I can carry out a conversation. Traveling presents a lot of opportunities to step outside of my comfort zone, which I really enjoy!

I can also learn a lot about different cultures when I travel One interesting thing I discovered in Costa Rica is that many people say “pura vida,” which means pure life, as a greeting or farewell because Costa Rican people take pride in their country and environment. The fact that people “pure life” to great each other says a lot about Costa Rican culture! I’ve also learned a lot by talking to local people, who have a lot to say about what life is like in the country we are visiting. Our guide in Tanzania answered a lot of our questions about what schooling and government was like, among others.

That’s me at Lake Eyasi in Tanzania!

I do a lot of other things other than travel and write this blog! Though school takes up a lot of time, I for the most part do enjoy my classes. My favorite subject in school is Computer Science. I also engage in various activities outside of school. I love music, so I like playing piano and listening to my favorite bands. During the winter, I go skiing on many weekends. Lastly, I waste a lot of time reading manga or watching anime :”)

Here is a video of me playing Fantaisie Impromptu:

As I travel more I hope to write many more posts about our traveling adventures!
